Saw my FOS Barn & Northern rough-winged Swallows @ Laurel Lake in Breaks Park yesterday. A Pied-billed Grebe was also present but the Wood Ducks of a few days ago were nowhere to be found. There were 4 beautiful Blue-winged Teal(3m,1f) @ the Beaver Pond & a Pine Warbler & Golden-cr Kinglet. The feeder yard @ home was busy with blackbirds-2Common Grackles,9Red-winged & 3Rusty Blackbirds & 16 Brown-headed Cowbirds. At one point I looked out the window & saw a blackbird with lots of white showing. I grabbed my binos & was amazed to see a male Red-wing with several white primaries on each wing & more white feathers on the back between the shoulders. The epaulets on the wings were paler than normal-a very gorgeous bird! I have to get a camera to record finds like this. Where are Roger & Don when you need them? DaveR/Breaks,VA
