Daryl asked me Saturday during the field trip about Green Herons in Stuart's
Pond this spring so I decided to check it out after my run to the dump this
morning. I didn't find any Green Herons, but I did find 1 Mallard (F), 9
Wood Ducks (8 M, 1 F) with 7 of them perched in a willow tree on the shore,
and 1 Black-crowned Night-Heron. I believe this is the first Night-Heron
I've seen in Russell County.
