Hey Dan,
Look at the background in that sandpiper photo. Are you sure that photo wasn't 
taken by the Mars rover, Curiosity?

  Rick Fridel, an excellent birder and photographer posted that there was a 
nice assortment of shorebirds at Sand Hollow State Park here in Southern Utah. 
One species being Baird's Sandpiper (see Rick's photo) that is a life bird for 
me. I wasn't disappointed to find 6 Baird's, several Westerns. In addition, 
there were 4 Avocets, 52 Black necked Stilts, and 23 White Faced Ibis. I guess 
migration is getting a good start here in Utah.
