I had my first Tennessee Warbler yesterday in the yard stream, then another
today. I use the Tennessee as a gauge for the start of the migration. They
nest farther north so we don't see them except when they migrate through.
When I see the first one in the fall I know that the southern migration has
officially begun.
This Chestnut-sided Warbler also paid a visit to our yard stream.
I found this Banded Tussock Moth caterpillar climbing around on a fence in
our backyard. They aren't the poison ones, but if you handle them they can
cause a rash and an aggravating itch.
