Just a reminder that today's Russell County Bird Club Meeting will be a
field trip to the Mud Hole at 6:30. Weather predictions are for a high in
the upper 50's with only a 20% chance of rain. However, it is supposed to
be windy so dress accordingly. If it should be raining this afternoon,
we'll meet at the usual place (community rooms near Town Hall in Lebanon) at
7:30.
To get to the Mud Hole from Lebanon, go 1.7 miles on US 19 N to Elk Garden
Road and turn right. Follow Elk Garden Road 2.1 miles to its intersection
with Green Valley Road. Turn right and park along the shoulder of the road.
From Rosedale, Take US 19 S 2.6 miles to Hayters Gap Road (VA 80) and turn
left onto Hayters Gap Road. Go 2.1 miles on Hayters Gap Road and turn right
on Elk Garden Road. Proceed 0.6 mile to Green Valley Road. Turn left and
park along the shoulder.
