We do not have a bird club meeting scheduled for Sept, but we do have a hawk
watch scheduled at the Birch Knob Observation Tower in Dickenson County on
Sept. 21.
Also, on Friday, Sept. 13, the evening before our Warbler Day event, we will
meet for dinner with club members and those Warbler Day visitors who are
staying the night in the area. We will meet at the Peking Restaurant in the
Grundy Plaza at 6:00 p.m. After dinner we will travel to Grundy High School
to watch the hundreds, sometimes thousands of Chimney Swifts come in just at
dusk to roost in the chimney there. Of course, this Swift watching depends
on having good weather.
