[bcbirdclub] Migrating Swallows

I had an opportunity to give my parents a driving tour of Burke's Garden
yesterday 8/23. We came upon an amazing number of Barn & Tree Swallows lining
the fences on both sides of the road as well as the power & phone lines. No way
to count them but there were literally thousands of birds! 8,000 would probably
be a conservative estimate. I scanned with binoculars & could not see any other
species except barn & tree. It was quite a spectacle!
