[bcbirdclub] Late Rose-breasted Grosbeak

I was surprised this morning to see this late migrating Rose-breasted
Grosbeak just outside our kitchen window. I thought they had all passed
through by now. The latest one I ever had was in June of 1985 when a male
came to eat mulberries in our yard. It's not impossible, though unlikely,
that this bird is nesting somewhere nearby even though 2400 ft is usually
too low for them. In June of 2007 a fellow found a pair nesting down near
Harman below Grundy, and that was almost at river level probably below 1000
ft. He told David Raines about it. The birds laid two eggs, but eventually
abandoned the nest.
