Hi All,
Yesterday some interesting birds came through. A Tennessee Warbler was the most
unexpected, though this is by no means the late date for that species here in
the area. The latest date we have is November 1. We actually have two for that
date, one at David Raines' home in the Breaks (2002) and one on Sparrow Day at
Guesses Fork of Hurley (2003).

A female Ruby-throated Hummingbird was still here yesterday in spite of the
temperature being 41 F. After the freezing temperature of 31 F and frost this
morning she was nowhere to be found. I hope she moved on south and didn't
succumb to the cold. We also had another White-crowned Sparrow yesterday, one
White-throated Sparrow, a Brown Thrasher and 3 Common Ravens.

Today I saw my first of the season Hermit Thrush, a Gray Catbird, a couple of
Red-shouldered Hawks a Brown Thrasher, and 6 Yellow-rumped Warblers.
