Greetings,
Sharing a plover find yesterday about 4pm. I checked out my old work location
(just at the Greeneville/Mosheim city limits) to see if any Killdeer needed my
help.
In the past, the lawn mowers have repeatedly run over their nests unawares.
I found one pair of Killdeer, one nest with two eggs. Usually four, but I found
2 rocks and set them out. She was unfazed, but it will stop the mower and
hopefully once again, they all will survive.
I am planning my trip to Central Park towards the 2nd week of May.
Found a guide (Robert DeCandido PhD) on Google and have requested tour info.
I plan to go to the specific famous areas mentioned. If anyone has first-hand
knowledge or advice, please share. Or if you live in NYC, I would love to
join you for a walk-through-the-park.
