This morning just before dawn I stepped outside our house here on Compton
Mountain and heard a Whip-poor-will in the distance. I know there is a pair
nesting on the golf course just a mile or so in the opposite direction.
Later, as I walked around the birding trail on our property I found a male
Blue-winged Warbler singing.
