Our Texas friend, Skip, is on vacation in Yellowstone National Park. He sends us this report and photo. He's making me envious. The park has recived record snows this season. Still quite of bit of snow in the higher elevations along the divide. Seeing the usual suspects in the wooded areas, not many ducks on the lakes yet, saw some American White Pelicans on Lake Yellowstone today and quite a few Canadian Geese and little ones just hatched. Got a good shot of a Stellar's Jay (see attachment), along with some Clark's Nutcrackers. Been looking at critters and not much birding yet. My checklist is lacking. Nice and cool here about 70 today. Thought you guys might enjoy the Jay picture. Skip McClellan Conroe, Texas %Yellowstone National Park June 18, 2008
