I am forwarding a couple of posts from VA Birds about Cowbird eggs in Bluebird nests. I thought those of you who have bluebird boxes would be interested. Looks to me like a sparrow egg. It has a bluish/greenish hue and was laid sometime between yesterday evening and this evening. See attached link: http://andresenrealty.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=1525&g2_page=2 Mrs Bluebird laid one egg yesterday and one today and they are protecting the nest, so, they have not deserted the nest. I removed the offending egg. I am very sure that it is not a bluebird egg. What can I do to protect my bluebirds? If you'd like to see my bluebirds, they are online at www.neatnature.com, US folder -> backyard. Appreciate your insight. Thanks in advance!
