Hi All, I received this message from Skip McClellan out in TX. Look at what is visiting his suet feeder.Skip, we called those Wood Hens when I was a boy. At this time of the year we hear them "drumming" on hollow trees in the woods, as they try to attract a mate.

Roger: Had to send this picture to you. The Great One made a visit this afternoon. 6:10 PM, 84 degrees, My Suet was not lasting long. I blamed it on the squirrels. When I was a young boy. We called them "Giant Woodpeckers", we did not know what a Piliated Woodpecker was. What a neat bird. We have about three that hang around the yard area. They are nervous and do not normally pose for a picture. Good Birding Skip McClellan Conroe, Texas
