Subject: [NRV Birds] Easter egg thief & finally an osprey

On Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt for kids staying at Pipestem State Park.
Yes. Even in the 3" of snow. Seems housekeeping wasn't too keen on us hiding
eggs in the lodge. Anyway, while we were waiting to start, we spotted a crow
carrying a large brightly colored object in its beak. Sure enough, it was
taking part in the egg hunt. We saw the bird fly off with at least 5 eggs. I
guess they are used to non-white eggs but they don't get them hard-boiled very
often.
Yesterday evening we watched an osprey on Bluestone Lake at the mouth of the
Bluestone River.
