Those are nice finds. This week I had my first Junco. At the quarry here in New
Bern, there were well over 750 Coots and 300-400 Ruddy Ducks. I too had a
Kestrel as well. I guess it's a sign of old man winter is acomin .

Subject: Breaks Park Birds
A walk around the Beaver Pond turned up some nice birds. For the third November
in a row, I found Rusty Blackbirds at the pond. Yellow-rumped Warblers, Juncos,
a Hairy Woodpecker and the Winter Wren pictured were also present around the
pond. The pair of Wood Ducks were found on Laurel Lake, where a Kingfisher and
a Red-tailed Hawk were also present. An American Kestrel was perched on a wire
beside Rt.80 about 1/4 mile from the park.
