Four planets, Venus, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter are now visible to the naked
eye in the southern sky just before sunrise. Venus is the brightest object
in the sky after the moon. Look to the southeast for Venus . As we get into
February Mercury will also become bright enough to be visible in the morning
sky. The best viewing of all five planets will be around February 6 or 7.
The five planets will stretch across the southern sky starting with Mercury
in the Southeast and ending with Jupiter in the Southwest. For those
interested here is a link to a graphic that shows how the planets will
appear in the sky.

Just scroll slightly down the page to see the graphic. There are also a
couple of bright stars in that area of the sky that might be a bit
confusing.

Good skywatching,
