Subject: South East Texas Bird Report
Roger: Had our FOS Male Rose Breasted Grosbeak this morning. Guess the
high winds blew him in last evening. Also had a couple of Indigo Buntings
two days ago. The weather has certainly been strange this year.
Folks north of us in East Texas had quite a bit of damage last evening. We
did not get the rain here, but had high winds. Still blowing about 20 mph
at times. Looks like you guys are getting some good bird counts in your
area. A couple of local boy scouts reported seeing two Red Cockaded
Woodpeckers in the Jones State Forest just south of me. I go down there,
however, cannot seem to get a picture. Maybe one of these days. On my way
to Tractor Supply for a seed run this morning.
