Our Texas friend, Skip McClellan had a wonderful surprise at his bird bath
this week, a Painted Bunting. See his message below.

Roger:
Today was a great day at our feeders this afternoon. We were out back on
the Patio this afternoon when Donna spotted a strange bird in the bird bath.
As I slowly turned around I could see only it's head. "Holy Moly I said,
it's a Painted Bunting." I do not think we have ever had one in our
immediate area. I was able to slip in and get the camera and got some
fairly decent shots. I have attached the rear view which really shows how
the Painted Bunting got his name.
Looks like a artist painted the feathers with a brush.
Beauty is all around us.
