Yesterday, we saw our first of the season Dark-eyed Junco or "Snow Birds". They have returned from farther north or have dropped down from the higher mountains where they nested. Now we know that cold, snowy weather can't be too far away. Now we can look forward to cracking some of our Black Walnuts and making fudge while the wood I cut gives us warmth from the stove, and the large snow flakes accumulate outside.
