This evening near dusk and between rains a First of the season, really striking male Black-and-white Warbler flew into the birch tree over our yard pond. It was joined by 2 Yellow-throated Warblers that were harassing it. Those two finally lost interest and the Black-and-white continued to glean insects from the tree. At least one Yellow-throated Warbler has been singing in the yard for the past two weeks, so maybe this pair was just being territorial. Too bad it was too dark for decent photos.
