Greetings, I saw this bird about 10:00, it left and than returned about an hour later and was in the neighbor hood for a couple of hours. The first time I saw this species here was on 6-27-2003 when I saw 2 adult birds, then on 5-4-2007 I saw another adult, and now this bird. It did not really associate much with the Mourning Doves which were present, but kept off to itself & never did actually come to feed with the other birds but stayed on the other side of the fence in my neighbor's yard. Stan Bentley and I birded some this past Tuesday and while in the Belspring area we looked for and found a large winter flock of this species at the normal feeders that they frequent there. We counted 35- 40 birds in this group, the leucistic bird found there last year was not seen. It appears that this colony is well established and flourishing. I have seen a few reports of these birds elsewhere - but to my knowledge this is the largest colony of Eurasian Collared-Doves in the state, if not the region. For those interested -see the attached photo of the bird which I saw today. Good Birding Mark Mullins Claytor Lake, Va
