Just a reminder that tomorrow's outing at Enoch's Branch near Grundy is still on despite the forecast for rain. Since there is a picnic shelter there we can retreat to it if the rain becomes too heavy. Remember to bring a lunch and drinks. If the bird activity tomorrow is like it is here on the mountain this morning, it should be a good day. At Enoch's Branch we usually get Blue-winged Warblers and sometimes Golden-winged Warblers. We sometimes find Vesper and Savannah Sparrows passing through. Since this is prime migration time anything is possible. For anyone who may not remember how to get there here are directions from Grundy. Following Rte 460 into town from the Richlands direction you will come to a traffic light just after passing the Buchanan County Court House on your right. Turn right at the light onto Rte 83 toward WV. Drive 2.4 miles. A couple hundred feet after passing Brian's Stop and Shop (a combination store and gas station) on your left, and just before crossing a small concrete bridge you will see a sign on the left for Enoch's Branch Park. The road to Enoch's Branch Park at the turn is a bit narrow and goes past a large, light brick home. Follow the paved but narrow road to the top of the mountain to the park. Near the top you will pass through an open gate. Continue past the first picnic shelter on up the mountain until you see the baseball field and a second picnic shelter. We will see you there.
