The side of the bridge facing west has about 280 nests that look freshly built. The east side has about 170 nest that are older. I cannot say how much older. They are dry looking and only one or two birds visited the nests while I was there compared to the east side that was a constant wave of fury. I am surprised no one from Bristol has ever posted Cliff swallows here and even more surprised, if the eastern nests are from last year, that I have not spotted the birds in the past. The top left shot is the 'older' nests. The main shot is the western side of the bridge, as is the lower shot. As you can see in the lower shot (notice the dark brown line under the railing) all available real estate on the bridge is taken. Don Carrier
