On Saturday, June 14, six members of the Buchanan County Bird Club participated in the annual breeding bird survey for the county. The weather was beautiful and the birds were active. We counted a record number of 74 species for the survey. Some of the more unusual species found were Barred Owl fledglings, Cerulean Warbler, Kentucky Warbler, Eastern Kingbird, Grasshopper Sparrow, Horned Lark and Whip-poor-will.
