Dad and I hiked around Laurel Lake in the park this morning. We were surprised
to see a thin layer of ice covering 2/3 of the lake. In spite of that, we found
1 Pied-billed Grebe, 2 male Wood Ducks and a Great Blue Heron at the lake. We
also saw a few Juncos, several Crows, a Red-bellied Wp, 2 Downys and a Hairy
Wp., 20+ Mourning Doves, several Jays and 2 Golden-cr Kinglets. On the way out
of the park ,near the entrance, we spotted an imm. Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
