Just had an hour to do a little scouting for next Saturday's birding scheduled for the Breaks Park. Migratory birds are still moving through the park. I located a small flock of warblers that included Magnolia,Tennessee & Blackpoll. Also nearby were a pair of Yellow-throated Warblers & singing Cerulean & Black-th Green Warblers. A female Rose-br Grosbeak flew into a White Oak that also held a small flock of Cedar Waxwings & a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher flitting through it's young foliage. All these birds were located between 6:00 & 7:00p.m. during a light drizzle.
Just in case someone monitoring the list is interested, I will be leading bird walks in the Breaks Park on the 21st in celebration of International Migratory Bird Day. The morning walks will begin at 8:00a.m. at the Visitor's Center & the afternoon session will also meet there @1:00p.m. & will include birding from overlooks throughout the park. DaveR/Breaks,VA
