The compilation of data shows a total of 56 species were found on count day!
Another 8 species were added during count week. Many thanks go out to the
participants! Roger and Lynda Mayhorn, Daryl Owens, Ed Talbott 111, Mary
Talbott and Dave Raines all contributed to a successful count. As always, there
were notable misses that are frustrating! Some of them were; Wood Duck, Screech
Owl, American Kestrel, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Brown Creeper, Cedar Waxwing
and Fox Sparrow. CBC’s require teamwork to be successful! Even though our
number of participants was low(due to COVID-19) we combined our lists to
produce very respectable results. Everyone’s list included birds that others
had missed. For example, Golden-crowned Kinglets, like the one pictured below,
were only found by Ed this year. Ruby-crowned Kinglets were only found by
Roger& Lynda, Bald Eagles by Daryl, Purple Finches by Mary and Evening
Grosbeaks by Dave. You get the picture, it takes a team. Thanks again to all
who helped and to all who couldn’t, we look forward to a better year ahead!
