Twenty species of migrants or unusual yard visitors came by our place today
here on Compton Mt. The most unusual was this Yellow-billed Cuckoo that came
down to bathe in the stream. This is only the second or third time this has
ever happened.
We also had two Eastern Kingbirds at the stream and a female Common
Yellowthroat. (See attached photos). We had a total of 10 warbler species.
The list for the day can be seen below.
For those who saw the female Cape May Warbler on Warbler Day trying to
protect the pod of grapes I had put out, well, she is still here and running
every other small bird away, but she can't do much with the Cardinals and
Tanagers.
