There was the largest count of shorebirds in Burkes Garden on one day
(Saturday) since I started birdig there. We (David and I) counted 50: (29)
Spotted Sandpipers, (8) Solitary Sandpipers, (5) Greater Yellowlegs, (4) Lesser
Yellowlegs and a nice surprise of (3) Least Sandpipers. Also, we had a good
count on the species checklist (68) with a lifer for David. Hope the shorebirds
will be there if you go today.

I had a phone message when I returned home about 11:30 from Clancey Deel. He
was in Burkes Garden and had found about 40 shorebirds and lots of warblers,
and he wanted me to alert everyone who may be interested. Too bad I wasn’t
home earlier when he called.
