Hi All,
This a reminder about our April meeting on Monday, when Dr. Ashley Peele,
Virginia Breeding Bird Atlas Coordinator, will speak to us about the current
Virginia Breeding Bird Atlas. This is a 5 year program, and birders in
Southwest VA are needed to help with it. Birders can help as much or as
little as they would like. Dr. Peele will explain how to go out and gather
information on birds breeding in the area, and how to record that info on
eBird. She hopes to be able to talk to birders from Buchanan and Russell
County bird clubs and other birders from this part of Virginia, so even if
you are not sure you would be interested in participating in this program
this year, come listen to her and see if you might be interested in helping
next year.
We will meet at our regular meeting place, the Buchanan County Public
Library at 6:00 p.m. I have invited Dr. Peele and her husband Shawn, to have
dinner with us at 5:00 at the Peking Restaurant in Grundy Plaza., if they
can make it. Come join us at the restaurant for some good conversations
about birds and birding.
