Good morning!
We have tons of Pine Siskin 100 or more along with equal number of Goldfinch.
We have feed 100 lbs. of sunflower seeds in the past 2 weeks. They are eating
us out of house and home, but we just keep feeding them anyway. They apparently
leave our house and fly over to David and Susan's house and tank up again. Best
feed birds in the Southern Appalachian region. Yesterday I counted 22 Dove at
our front yard feeder. So I'm filming all the Siskin, Finch, Dove and suddenly
a blurr shots through the camera. This blurr takes a dove and leaves only a few
tail feather waving in the snow. I suspected a Sharpy. Today while checking the
same feeder that blurr appeared again and it's a Copper's Hawk. He made a dive
into several dove but missed his intended breakfast and landed on a limb about
25 yards away. What a great look at a wonderful hunter.
