It is basically all of these TS steps. Turn every part and connector
off and on again.

Also might be power to the GPU, maybe try a different power connector,

Over loaded with steps yet?

Check that the card fans are spinning. Canned air would also not hurt.

Sounds like a video card but I've had RAM do similar. You could try
booting up with 1 stick at a time to see if that helps

onboards needs a VGA cable which o don't have but I can't probably
borrow one. I've tried different ports on the card with no success.
Maybe the excuse I need to get a new one.

Are you getting a blue screen at crash? You should see what updates
have been installed recently, specifically drivers. Driver issues
often cause what you are describing, although it could very well be a
bad card. I would do what Marty suggests first, if possible to
eliminate the card. You'll have to fire up something lame though since
onboard won't handle much in the way of graphics.

Do any of the other ports work on your Graphics card?

So how exactly do you tell if your video card is taking a dump?
My computer started crashing anytime I tried playing a game and now
when I turn it on the monitor just says no signal.
