Just for perspective:
I am also still running the 4770K and 16GB of RAM on my primary PC. I am
running a 970 and everything I play runs beautifully. Crisp, smooth. No
lag.
Also, my kid's PC is running on my 1st generation i7 940 with 16 GB of
RAM and also a 970. When I throw BF5 on either of them, they look the
same, play the same.
I don't use VR so can't speak to how it performs in my scenario. But, I
would suggest buying a new card before throwing a bunch of money at the
rest of the build if you are a "buy only what you need" type of guy like
me. I like to get as many miles out of my components as I can while still
having a great (not just good) graphics experience.

So I did a test last night and was able to see my CPU usage when running
VR is maybe 50% and RAM is more like 30%. I have 32GB of RAM and a 4770K.
My 780TI has a HDMI 1.0 from what I can tell and is way under-powered.
I am wondering if just upgrading the GPU would be all I need for now, or is
there enough BUS speed improvements on the later motherboards that would
warrant an upgrade even though the CPU itself isn't a bottleneck?
Thoughts oh techie geekmeisters.
