Sharing info on Virginia Non-resident Concealed Handgun Permit in case
anyone is interested.
I applied and tracked my packet arriving on Tue, May 30. Today, I received
a letter from VA informing me that they document receipt of my payment by
bank draft on June 28, which is a month after they physically received it.
They also informed me that processing of my application takes up to 120
days after the documented payment date. That means it may take minimum 5
months to get my permit.
There were no issues with my application packet. Everything was in order.
But there is apparently an effort to slow down permit issue in VA.
It's not a deal breaker since I already have FL, but I visit the state a
lot and prefer to have their permit.
