Dear Colleagues, I have another question for you. I'm trying to figure out how
to handle check outs in a location separate from the actual library. We have
class sets and professional books located in the staff lounge. Our Tech
Department does not want to have a computer in that area. Over the past few
years, teachers have either recorded bar codes on a check-out sheet or emailed
me the numbers after returning to the classroom. As you can imagine, lots of
books disappear from the staff lounge, and I only figure it out when they are
identified as "lost" (not on the shelf although system shows they are in) or at
the end of the year when I inventory the class sets. This year a somewhat
alarming number have gone missing. What kind of system(s) and/or procedures do
you use? (We use Alexandria as our library software.) Thanks, Jenny
