Hello Librarians-

I'm hoping your collective wisdom can help me find an article or two that
presents statics, data and/or sound reasoning as to why it is important to
teach computer literacy and digital citizenship lessons to students in
lower school/primary school. We start students with computers in third
grade and I would love to have some great literature to share with parents
and new faculty about why students need to learn the skills of typing,
emails, programming, etc. and how to successfully be part of a digital
world in this day and age.

We have recently finished our media/tech scope and sequence and know why it
is important to us as a school, but we would love to have some facts to
back that reasoning up. I would like to steer away from any articles that
promote the fear of tech use for kids.

Thank you--
