Wow Mark, this looks really ambitious and cool! Thanks for sharing this idea.
Love the "Library GO" idea - I might use that somehow!

Hi Tana,
Last year we set up an augmented reality tour using Aurasma -
http://inspirationlab.org/story/7456. I got the idea from an article in SLJ. If ;
we do it again this year I'm totally calling it "Library GO!"

Subject: [baisl] What do you include in a Freshman Orientation?
Hello Colleagues!
I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer vacation. Since this is
my first year as library director at Bellarmine I have been working hard to get
prepared (yikes!!!).
I will get about 30 minutes with each freshman English class to give them
"Library Basics". I have a few things on my list but I am interested in
hearing what you include in your freshman orientation programs (if you have
one).
I'm also looking for interactive things to do so it's not just me talking at
them. We will do a quick tour of the library but I had a suggestion from a
teacher to do a book scavenger hunt to help teach them the Dewey system a
little. This may work but with high school boys it's a fine line between
fun/instructional and too juvenile. Is anyone doing anything "cool" with their
high schooler's?
Any input would be most appreciated!
Thanks so much,
Tana Perotin
