Jen Wang's graphic novels are beautiful and if you haven't read the Prince
and the Dressmaker, I highly recommend it. It is a lushly illustrated
inclusive story set in Paris about a genderqueer cross-dressing prince and
a poor dressmaker he hires to make his couture in secret until his fashion
starts to catch attention risking the revelation of his hidden identity. It
includes a few pages about Wang's process at the end, and since graphic
novels are so popular with students a presentation about creating one would
be of great interest to them.

stages for three author visits this year and wanted to extend the
opportunity to jump on board for any or all of them if you are
interested.If we share, it not only helps the authors make the trip
worthwhile but also helps us to share the expense and travel costs.I am

*Cost to your school: $500 + the 3-way split cost of her travel expenses
driving up from Silicon Valley and parking, etc., so probably around $550*

Fire on High will be released in May - I saw her speak at ALA Midwinter and
was blown away! - would be amazing for a poetry/spoken word unit *
