Dear All,
The discussion about PT conferences has been very interesting. I am
curious about something else: How many librarians do report cards from
Library? At present, nearly ninety 3rd and 4th graders get marks and
narrative from me. There is talk of expanding that to K-2. On the plus
side, Library is taken seriously. (The other specialists do the same and
more.) The challenge is, of course, time and authentic assessment. Our K-2
program is rich but more experiential--not really geared toward assessment
at the present time.
What is the practice in other schools? (If this has already been discussed
by BAISL at an earlier date, please forgive me and ignore my question.)
