Hi Debra,
It depends on when your school wants to hand out the yearbooks. We hand our
yearbooks out two weeks before school ends so we start sending out notices
a month earlier for overdue books and require all books be turned in 2 days
before the yearbooks are handed out. The majority of students get their
books in and then we print a list of students who still have outstanding
books. The homeroom teachers are given the lists and monitor distribution.
The stragglers have to get a printed receipt from the librarian showing
they have returned their books. Doesn't always workout as teacher sometimes
have students reading until the very end of the year.
Good luck!
Debra

Dear Colleagues,
We have a policy that students do not get their end of the yearbook until
all books are returned to the library.
If June 15th, is the last day of school. When would you begin to send out
notices in the school bulletin and parent newsletter? I no longer have my
Assistant Librarian that oversaw overdue and missing books.
I have begun to lower the amount of books that can be checked out each
week, but I wanted to know when you all begin sending all school notices
for missing books?
Thanks,
Debra Cardone
