Researchers at Mills College and Florida State University are recruiting
teams of educators to participate in a federally-funded study during the
2017-2018 school year called "Improvement of Elementary Fractions
Instruction." The research will study the impact of lesson study, with or
without fractions resource kits, on instruction and student learning. Teams
will be randomly assigned to one of four conditions: lesson study with
fractions resource kits; lesson study without fractions resource kits;
self-study of fractions resource kit; or no lesson study and no resource
kit. At the end of the study, all groups will be provided with all
resources.

Eligible teams will consist of at least three and not more than eight
educators, including at least one grade 3 or 4 teacher willing to video
record fractions instruction (3 lessons). No more than one team per school
is eligible. A stipend of $4000 is available to participating groups that
complete the requirements as specified on the consent form.
