Hi Judy,
We spend several weeks at the beginning of the year reviewing proper book
care and library etiquette before allowing checkouts. Then the students
are allowed to check out one book per week and keep the book in their
classroom. I am constantly reminding kids about proper book care -and play
games, and show videos to reinforce this. If they want to take books home,
they need to come in with an adult and check out under the adult account.
