This year's Humanities West / UC Berkeley programs will be of particular
interest to middle school World History teachers.
1. Their November 3 - 4 program, Norman Sicily: Art and Power in
Palermo, focuses on medieval Sicily as a vibrant site of encounter between
North Africa, Western Europe, and the Levant. It's pretty much tailor-made
for 7th grade World History.
2. On February 23 - 24, 2018, Ancient Greeks: The Age of Expansion, an
education on Greek music, theater, architecture, politics, and more.
3. May 4 - 5, 2018, Lucrezia's Family: The Renaissance Borgia Dynasty,
explores Italian Renaissance politics, philosophy, and arts.
