I have moved most of our reference to NF - we have around 400 NF which
about 1 book for two students.
I am redesigning my library (starting to pack it up right now!) and plan
to decrease the number of print titles. We will probably end up in the 15 -
16 books per student range. We also have ebrary (about 150,000 titles) and
Overdrive (getting close to 1000 titles). What I'm trying to do is remove
the old moldy "we should have these" book that never get used, to make
space for collaboration and a silent study room. Can't have it all, and
books that haven't been used in the 12 years I've been here aren't the best
use of the space we have.
We also have a room of really old books - almost all are prior to 1930.
I'll admit those are mostly for decoration of a beautiful old room but some
of them do get used on occasion. I haven't run stats on those in years.
Maybe 1000 books in that room.
