What about having them do a summary of the book in the voice of the main
character? Ie Harry Potter would relate the story of living under the
stairs, having those first school admissions invitations show up, or a
couple of the main events that happen in the book. They can dress up or not
- the idea is more to have them inhabit the character. They could do a book
trailer the same way.

that the student actually read the book.  I have thought of:

   - Make a 1-2 minute book trailer video
   - Create a poster to “sell” the book to your classmates (by hand or on
   the computer)
   - Do a 2 minute book talk to sell the book

I would love to get your ideas on other fun ways the students could share
their books.  We want to give them a bunch of different ways to do this so
they can work with their individual strengths and interests.
