The wording "professional librarian" is in the BAISL Mission statement.

The suggested additional language was to include library "advocates" and
perhaps to explicitly include students as well. There are a lot more
details and a range of opinions being shared in a forum on the new BAISL
website. Lauri labeled the discussion "Broadening BAISL Membership
Parameters", which I take as clear evidence that she is not arguing for
excluding anyone.

The Bay Area Independent School Librarians (BAISL) is an association of
professional school librarians who believe that the library is a central
and indispensable academic force within the independent school. BAISL is
dedicated to furthering the professional growth of its member librarians
and to improving independent school libraries in facilities, staffing, and
resources.
