Thank you, Derek, for getting us organized-
Bentley is all set to help when the time comes.
Our student council has already started a book drive for fire victims.
After the Oakland Hills fire when not only the Hiller
campus library/classrooms were destroyed, but also many faculty/student
homes, I remember how grateful we all were for the numerous book donations
that poured in from BAISL member schools. For months, while we worked to
rebuild buildings and restock our library and classroom collections - our
community was reading and swapping books like crazy. So I will forever
remember the generosity and support we received from BAISL members, that
made it possible for our library to became one of the main sources of
security for many of our families while dealing with the aftermath of the
fire.
For tips on how to manage stress after fire, our school psychologist is
recommending "Recovering emotionally from disaster
<http://www.apa.org/helpcenter/road-resilience.aspx>" and APA's "Road to
resilience <http://www.apa.org/helpcenter/road-resilience.aspx>"  brochure
that describes steps that you can take to build resilience - the process of
adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or
significant sources of stress.

Dear BAISL:



As I think was announced at the meeting last week, I have been in touch
with Molly Bone, the head librarian at Cardinal Newman HS; I have told her
that when the time comes for her to being rebuilding her collection that I
would like to coordinate efforts on behalf of BAISL to help.  She was most
grateful to hear that she is not alone.



Realistically, it is going to be months before Cardinal Newman is in the
position to be able to receive donations, but I wanted to begin collecting
names of interested BAISL members now so that I can be in touch with you
directly when the time comes.
