I just picked up Juana and Lucas by Juana Medina and I like that one a lot. It 
has several Spanish words interspersed into the text but they’re nothing you 
can’t understand generally from context clues. My copy has all the Spanish 
words italicized and there is a lot of text in various sizes to emphasize 
certain parts. It’s a super cute series though.

My Father's Dragon is a great pick! Two others that have worked well for me 
with that age group:

(especially for newer chapter book readers)
2. Unicorn Rescue Society<https://bookopolis.com/#/search-detail/9780735231726> 
(especially for more experienced readers)

One activity that my book club students love is to either re-tell the story as 
a graphic novel or create their own fan fiction extension. For the graphic 
novel activity, I use comic strip templates I found online. I can email you the 
ones I use if you're interested.

I’d love to hear how y’all run book clubs at your schools. At our first meeting 
we played a few ice breakers games, took turns reading aloud and then did an

Currently we’re reading Flat Stanley.
