Thank you all for your prompt response. I love Kiddle for Elementary
School, and I will add it to my links. The Women's History component is
outstanding on Factmonster too.
David I will need to do more research on Support Google? The students
select their famous American women tomorrow during class, so I will
probably postpone Support Google, and use the other suggestions. I do not
have a great deal of time.
Wishing you all a restful upcoming spring break too,
Debra

Subject: Re: AISL: Safe Search Engines for Children
Probably depends on the scope of your students’ topics, but you might
consider building a custom search engine for your project.

Dear Colleagues,
I have an extensive 4th Grade Research project on famous American Women,
and I would like them to use a safe children's search engine and not have
them use Google.
I am suggesting the following search engines below:
Sweet Search
Yahoo Kids
KidRex
Internet Public Library
What are your opinions of the above search engines for children? Can you
suggest any other search engines?
The 4th graders are also using our paid subscriptions to World Book
Online and e-library.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions regarding Lower School students
doing online internet research,
Debra
